If you're anything like us, you love getting an insight into the daily lives of other mothers. We love hearing about their motherhood journey, seeing how they style their pregnancy bump and all the tips and tricks to making it work...especially when it's with mamas as down-to-earth as Cobi Jade (aka @littlemisswhearty).
We caught up with Cobi who just welcomed their newest arrival Hunter Mark Whearty into the World to speak about pregnancy, babies, dressing for her bump and why the best piece of advice for all new mamas is to be kind to yourself...
Has pregnancy been what you expected?
I didn’t really know what to expect but it’s definitely been a very emotional and raw experience. I don’t think you know the true vulnerability until you are pregnant.
What are you looking forward to most about motherhood?
I can’t wait for all the firsts; watching him fall down and get back up! All the highs and lows and being there for my family as we continue to become the best versions of ourselves.
Did you always know you wanted to be a mother?
I absolutely love kids and I’ve always wanted to have a family, I just never thought I’d meet someone who I could share this with.
How have you found dressing for pregnancy – has your personal style remained the same or have you had to switch things up?
I’ve been quite lucky throughout my pregnancy, I wear a lot of playsuits so I’ve been able to wear them up until the last two months of my pregnancy. However I am wishing I had of invested in some more Bae outfits as since I’ve been wearing maternity clothes I’ve felt a lot more comfortable being pregnant and finally feel like I have my pregnancy glow back.
What sort of baby clothes and brands have you loved buying?
I am obsessed with By Billie & Pip & Lenny. I love the little rompers and anything linen.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given about motherhood, and what sort of pregnancy advice would you pass on to expecting mamas?
So far, I think the main advice I have been given is to be kind to myself, and no baby is the same so not to compare my experience to anyone else’s and to take breastfeeding as it comes and find out what works best for me and bubs. I think that’s the same advice I would pass onto anyone. Just be the best version of yourself and be kind to yourself. 9 months is a long time to be connected to another life so a lot of emotions are going to come from that and also a lot of joy! But don’t be scared to ask for help if it gets to much.
What’s your approach to health and wellbeing whilst being pregnant?
I’ve rested a lot during my pregnancy, probably more than I’ve rested in my whole life. I’ve given my body everything its asked for and needed including those cheeky cravings. Lots of little snacks and always carry them with you and stay hydrated.
What are some things you are looking forward to sharing with your little one as they get older?
All the smiles and providing a home filled with unconditional love. I couldn’t pick one moment or experience over another as I just can’t wait to embrace it all!
